Profiles in History to Offer Annette's Most Treasured Awards and Other Items to Benefit Research Fund
As
a friend of the Annette Funicello Research Fund for Neurological
Diseases, you may have heard by now that in fulfilling Annette’s wishes
in regard to her personal property, her husband, Glen Holt, believes
the time has come for placing some of her most iconic awards and
treasured possessions in the upcoming Disneyana Auction at Profiles in
History (Dec. 10, 2015). It was important to Annette that everyone…
family, friends, and fans… have an equal opportunity to own one these
items and to support the Annette Funicello Research Fund in the
process.
We
all know that Annette was passionate about finding a cure for Multiple
Sclerosis and other neurological diseases and she knew that fund raising
would be essential in providing for that necessary research. As most
of the items selected for auction were received at Glen & Annette’s
home during the course of their marriage, she asked him to care for them
until the time came when he would be able to offer them on her behalf
in support of these research efforts. In addition, a couple of very
special items received by Glen after Annette’s passing have been
included in the auction as well.
Profiles
in History has agreed to waive all of their normal seller consignment
fees for this collection. The management team at Profiles in History
has been extremely supportive in preparing for this exceptional offering
and we’re grateful for their help. As such, 100% of the hammer price
on each item will be forwarded directly to the Annette Funicello
Research Fund.
Those
who are interested in reviewing the Annette Funicello collection will
be able to view the items (page 77 thru 82) within the
Profiles in History auction catalog: HERE. A softcover version of the catalog is also available for $35 and the
contact information for Profiles in History is referenced on the title
page. In addition, bids can now be received online and the live auction
can be viewed on the internet starting at 11am (Pacific) on Thursday,
December 10, 2015 HERE.
While
it’s a somewhat bittersweet moment as these items have now left their
home for the last time, Glen takes great satisfaction in honoring
Annette’s own wishes and in bringing hope on Annie’s behalf to those who
are impacted by neurological disease.
Again,
on behalf of all who will be helped through the generous support of the
donors and friends of the Annette Funicello Research Fund for
Neurological Diseases, we offer our sincerest best wishes to you and
your family as we offer thanks together during this holiday season.
