| Annette's "Women of Distinction" Display |
You may recall that earlier this year Annette - a native of Utica, New York - was inducted by the New York State Senate as one of their "Women of Distinction" in recognition of her accomplishments within the entertainment industry and as a leading advocate for MS patients and neurological research. In conjunction with this honor, a display was created and exhibited at the Legislative Office Building in Albany. Once the exhibit closed, Annette's display was given to one of her New York relatives - a cousin, Patrick Cardamone - who made sure it was delivered safely to Annette's husband, Glen Holt.
Glen and the members of the Annette Funicello Research Fund for Neurological Diseases (AFRFND) Board of Directors understand the significance of this honor, and feel a tremendous sense of pride in seeing Annette named among the state's most prominent women. We again wish to convey our sincere appreciation to those within the New York State Senate for remembering Annette's work and the positive impact she had on lives of people the world over.

The Annette Funicello Research Fund for Neurological Diseases carries forward Annette's philanthropic legacy and desire to help those suffering with neurological disease. In 2016 we awarded five medical research grants to researchers in three different countries. With your support, we hope to move forward and expand our presence in the world of neurological research next year and in the years ahead.
