Van Eaton Galleries to Auction Another Round of Items to Beneifit Annette's Research Fund

Tomorrow, November 19, 2016 Van Eaton Galleries will host yet another of it's popular auctions featuring an incredible selection of historic Disneyana.

Within the mix of relics from Disneyland's past are four pieces from Annette's personal collection of career memorabilia; offered for the exclusive benefit of The Annette Funicello Research Fund for Neurological Diseases

LARRY JASON SILK SCREEN PAINTING - This large (24''x31.25'') one-of-a-kind silk screen painting picturing Annette in front of the Disneyland Hotel and Monorail was presented to Annette in person by the artist.  It was prominently displayed above the fireplace at her ranch home in Bakersfield, CA. BID HERE

COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES BIRTHDAY GREETING - This document was presented to Annette in recognition of her 53rd Birthday and her long-time contributions to the Los Angeles community.  Housed in a blue folder with gold seal, this unique and highly decorative document has been signed by the Supervisors of the First through Fifth Districts of the County of Los Angeles.  BID HERE

ANNETTE'S HIGH SCHOOL NOTEBOOK - This 11.5"x10" three-ring binder has been hand-decorated by Annette with the names of her favorite male stars including: Elvis Presley, Tab Hunter, James Dean, Sal Mineo, Ron Miller, and Guy Williams and contains her school work from October-December of 1957. California state law required that all juvenile performers attend school three hours a day, therefor Annette and other child performers at the Disney Studio attended school in custom-built, red schoolhouse trailers on the studio lot. This notebook contains approximately 125 pages of hand-written school work, many of which are hand-signed. Preserved by the estate of Annette's teacher, Mrs. Jean Seaman. BID HERE
AUTOGRAPHED MAGNETIC DOOR SIGN FROM DISNEY PARK OPENING -  When Disney MGM Studios theme park (since re-named Disney Hollywood Studios) opened in Orlando, Florida in 1989, Annette was among the many celebrities to participate in the grand opening celebration.  Offered here is a autographed magnetic sign that would have been affixed to the side of her parade car on this occasion.  BID HERE

Pre-auction bidding on these and all other lots in Van Eaton's "Souvenir's of Disneyland" is open now!  100% of the hammer price of the items listed above will support grant research through The Annette Funicello Research Fund for Neurological Diseases.  We THANK YOU for your continued support!!

Annette Funicello: Tributes from Fans and Friends

It's simply not often enough that I have the opportunity to alert our readers of a brand new Annette related product, but finally, the long dry spell between such releases has come to an end with the book, Annette Funicello: Tributes from Fans and Friends . Rita Rose, former president of Annette's international fan club, has compiled the personal memories and reflections of over forty individuals who are related to, have met, worked with or befriended this most likable star.  While Annette is famously remembered for being the same person in her daily life as she appears on screen, this book takes you deeper and reveals some of the lesser known dimensions of her character and personality.  Find out what it was like to encounter Annette as a fan, to be a guest in her home, to collaborate with her in the recording studio and attend to her on-set or on one of her early promotional tours in the '60s.  Some share how they first learned and reacted to the news of Annette...

NEWS: Bikini Beach and Pajama Party Debut on Blu Ray

Just in time for Christmas, MGM is releasing two of Annette's classic AIP films on Blu ray - a  wonderful gift to fans this Holiday season! BIKINI BEACH (1964) and PAJAMA PARTY (1964) are both currently available to order at major retailers online and are scheduled to ship by December 5th.   Those familiar with the MUSCLE BEACH PARTY, BEACH BLANKET BINGO and HOW TO STUFF A WILD BIKINI Blu Rays can attest to the beautifully enhanced image and sound quality revealed in those releases. It is assumed we can expect the same level of improvement over the old DVD's for these latest titles as well!
